An order to the Treasurer of his Civil List to pay 1,000 livres to dentist S. Dubois, "Dubois Dentiste de la Reine, la somme de Mille livres," as his half-yearly stipend.

Jean-Joseph Dubois-Foucou (1748-1840), succeeded Etienne Bourdet as dentist to the royal family after Bourdet's death in 1789, although he did not appear in the Royal Almanac until 1791. On August 1, 1790, he was called to the bedside of Louis XVI for a dental abscess. Property from the Collection of Blake Petersen
