A fine sammelband containing 8 works on dentistry by Delabarre, among them very early treatises on the recently discovered etherisation during surgery, including a biography of Delabarre with a photographic portrait of the dentist. Paris, 1845-63.

Antoine François Adolphe Delabarre, the son of the famous dentist and author on dentistry, continued the researches of his father Christophe François on dentition and introduced some new ideas on prosthetics. He was one of the first in Europe to apply ether in dental operations.

Provenance: from the library of the Paris dentist, and co-author of one of Delabarre’s works, Edmund Andrieu, with his stamp on the first title and his name gilt-stamped at foot of spine.
